Car shipping on the north bank of the Arkansas River
North Little Rock started as a railroad town called Argenta, and Union Pacific still runs one of its major locomotive shops here. Vehicles, though, leave by truck. We arrange door-to-door auto transport from any address in the city, with no rail yard or terminal drop-off involved.
North Little Rock is a separate city from Little Rock with its own ZIP codes, including 72114, 72116, 72117, and 72118. Enter yours in the quote form so the carrier is routed to the correct side of the river.
Three freeways and a truck stop corridor
Few cities this size have better truck access. I-40 crosses North Little Rock from east to west. I-30 ends at I-40 just north of the river, and I-57 begins there and runs northeast past McCain Boulevard toward Sherwood and Jacksonville. I-440 loops around the east side, and I-430 crosses the river on the west side near Maumelle.
Long-haul drivers know the area well. The truck stops at the Galloway exit on I-40 are a regular fuel and rest stop for carriers crossing the country, so a truck with space on board is often already nearby when your order comes in.
Neighborhood notes for pickup and delivery
- Argenta and downtown. Main Street and the blocks around it are busy on event nights at Simmons Bank Arena and during baseball games at Dickey-Stephens Park. If your pickup falls on one of those days, a morning slot or a meeting point away from the arena saves everyone time.
- Park Hill, Lakewood, and Indian Hills. These neighborhoods sit on hills with curving streets, and Lakewood wraps around a chain of small lakes. Carriers usually load from a wider road or a parking lot near JFK Boulevard or McCain Boulevard.
- Levy and Amboy. Mostly level residential streets off Camp Robinson Road and MacArthur Drive. A truck can often get close to the house if cars are not parked on both sides.
- Rose City and the east side. Wide streets and industrial lots along East Broadway and near the rail yards make access easy.
Apartment complexes anywhere in the city tend to have tight turns, speed bumps, and low carports, so plan on meeting the driver at the entrance or on the street outside.
Camp Robinson and Arkansas National Guard members
Camp Joseph T. Robinson, the headquarters of the Arkansas National Guard, sits on the north edge of the city. Guard members and their families ship vehicles for schools, long training assignments, and deployments, and the timing does not always wait for a convenient week.
Commercial car haulers generally cannot enter a military installation without prior clearance, so pickups for people living or working on post usually happen outside the gate, at a lot along Camp Robinson Road. If you will already be gone when the truck arrives, a spouse, friend, or fellow soldier can release the vehicle. They only need to be an adult you have named on the order.

|---|---|---|

| Oklahoma City, OK | About 340 miles | 2 to 4 days |
| Nashville, TN | About 345 miles | 2 to 4 days |
| St. Louis, MO | About 350 miles | 2 to 4 days |

| Las Vegas, NV | About 1,460 miles | 4 to 6 days |

Mileage is approximate. Transit times are typical ranges once the vehicle is loaded, not guarantees. Weather, traffic, and other stops on the truck can shift them.
Weather and timing in central Arkansas
Spring is hail season here. Storms between March and May are the main reason local owners of new, classic, or freshly painted vehicles choose enclosed transport, which keeps the car under a roof for the whole trip. On an open carrier your vehicle is exposed to the same weather it would see on a normal drive.
Winter brings a different issue. Central Arkansas gets an ice storm every so often, and when I-40 or I-30 shuts down, every truck on the road runs late. If you are shipping between December and February, leave a few days of cushion on both ends. Summer is the busiest moving season, so booking a week or two ahead helps from May through August.
What happens at pickup
The driver walks around the vehicle with you and marks existing scratches, dents, and chips on an inspection report called the bill of lading. You both sign it and you keep a copy. At delivery the same report is used to check the car again, so take your own photos at pickup too. Hand over one working key and keep the spare.
North Little Rock car shipping questions
Is car shipping priced differently in North Little Rock than in Little Rock?
The same carriers serve both sides of the river, so prices are usually very close. Use your own ZIP code so the quote and the driver’s directions match your actual address.
Can the carrier pick up at my apartment complex?
Yes, though the truck will rarely pull inside. Most complexes have tight turns and low carports, so the driver will ask to meet at the entrance or on the nearest street with room to load.
I work shifts. Do I have to be home for pickup?
Someone does, but it does not have to be you. Any adult you choose can hand over the keys and sign the inspection report. The driver calls ahead, so you will know the timing before the truck is on your street.
Can you ship a lifted pickup or a truck with oversized tires?
Yes. Tell us about any lift kit, larger tires, racks, or toolboxes when you request a quote. Height and weight decide which trailer can carry the truck, and modified vehicles can cost more than stock ones.
Do you ship motorcycles from North Little Rock?
Yes. Motorcycles travel strapped upright with tie-downs, on carriers that handle bikes regularly. Call the office for a motorcycle quote and have the make, model, and any saddlebags or accessories ready.
